The Source

From the Collection,
Spellbound, I behold the source
of light and life. The Universe
beckons my body's energy
to join its oneness and be free
from isolation, to align
my being with the Tao and find
its peace.
The phases of the moon,
the swirling galaxies, the sun,
the curvature of time and space
carry my spirit to the place
where I am one with the creator;
I am part of something greater
than myself. Infinities
of nature's wonders pass through me.
But what are all these musings worth?
The practicalities of earth
confine me to this workaday
existence. Frenzied disarray
and chaos vex my troubled mind.
I know I must dispel this kind
of temporal disconnect and find
my center.
A slow, deep breath; a calming sigh
silences the din of my
frenetic thinking. Only then,
these meditations once again
will meld me with the primal source
of light and life: the Universe.
